NETS PROJECT 2008-2009

This site specific work was created from November 2008 to June 2009, in Bærum Kommune, Norway. It consisted of 8 plastic net-bags which were formerly used as carriers for fire-wood. Each measuring approximately 80 x 40cm. The bags were installed on site towards the end of Autumn and stayed in position through winter, spring and the beginning of summer. The project was an extension of the concept of ‘impermanency’. The nets act as a captor to all that comes across it - leaves, branches, twigs, snow, etc. However, these can only be held ‘momentarily’. Either and both object will come to disintegrate over a period of time. In this case, the nets have a longer ‘life expectancy’ than those that it has captured.
