BOTTNA LANDART 2010 in Sweden, 26 June - 18 July.

Bottna is a small town in Sweden near the border to Norway. This work was part of a landart project for the Bottna Kultur Festival 2010. The festival invited seven artists from Sweden and Norway to participate and to create a work within a week. This site -specific work has been created with bright orange cotton thread. The threads have been meticulously arranged or woven between trees and its branches. In their masses, the thin orange threads can appear like wavering TV screens. The spaces in between, created by the threads, become as real as the trees that supports them. ‘Seeing invisible threads’, is about the negative spaces of air, light and other invisible possibilities.
